Rice Family History

Welcome to the WebLog or BlogSpot of the Rice Family History. This site is dedicated to Frederick J Rice, our beloved Uncle Fred. Uncle Fred has entrusted to me his compilation of historical facts and figures on our rich family heritage. I am deeply blessed and humbly grateful to him for this tribute.

I say now to the man who taught me to be able to read and tell time while driving the many hours up to visit Aunt Kay in his 1967 Ford Fairlane. Not only did I learn to read time, Uncle Fred, you have taught me also to honor time as our history with this task that you have entrusted to me, to honor those who made it possible for us to even "be"!

"Unc" as he is most lovingly and affectionately called has inspired us all in one way or another to become better people, better kids, better sons and daughters, better nieces and nephew, and most of all better men and women. It is through his love and devotion, his teaching of life's lessons, his taking on the responsibility to instill in us a deeper respect for life, creation and one another, even going further beyond the inspiration our parents gave us, he was the man who was our father's brother, he is the man who is our beloved other father. He is our one and only Uncle Fred.

Over time, I will post all the family literature, photographs and written history that has been compiled and will continue to be compiled. In an ongoing pursuit of going back deeper into history of our Rice Family Heritage, I hope that you, my brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins and the rest of our relatives will be able to add to our ancestry by sharing here new historic information and your own treasured memories.
